@gblair, @fiveten and @johnb, just a very small update as I wait for some parts to arrive.

    Still waiting. . . .

The exhausts are still on backorder, but I found one more small thing to do.

While I still wait (impatiently) for the exhausts to arrive (like the ones I used on the V13 over in the Air Race GB) I added the vertical support to the radiator intakes and glued the radiators in place

It did get some RLM02 first in strategic locations.

    standing by. . . . . standing by . . . . . etc (for the exhausts to arrive that is)

I always figure that 20 years in the military prepared me for modeling, Erik (@airbum): Great experience in "hurry up and wait".

Yep, hurry up and wait indeed, my friends @airbum and @gblair!

At least the waiting made you build some nice radiator intakes, Erik @airbum
But I fully understand your eagerness to receive those exhausts.

@gblair, @fiveten, @johnb, @lis, @lgardner, @j-healy and @chinesegeorge, the month-long wait for parts are over, and I am finally ready to make some minor progress on this one.

    blip . . . . please wait . . . . . blip

    The wait is over!

The parts arrived, and work can restart!

The eagle-eyed observer will see that it is the standard exhausts on the package! That is right, but inside the correct direct-exit panels are to be found, even though they supposedly are not to be used for the advertised plane on the front of the box.

Good for me, as I am now able to use them for this one, and still be able to make a hook-equipped Emil! Or Tony? Ok, carved away at the front of my patient 109 that has been through a lot so far

Just some testfit for now – work on the other side will follow before committing to CA.

next up the exhaustpanels will be in, perhaps a windscreen and hood in place, then it is off to the painters for some primer

Who was it who said “Patience is a virtue.”? Especially when you have no choice. Looks like it paid off Erik@airbum. What else is in that conversion box?

@eb801, the box contains the parts to convert a E-4 into the E-0, W.Nr 1783 GH+NT that were used to test items for the carrierbased Tony-version. However, having re-visited my files, it is very doubtful if GH+NT had the "long" exhausts, and I even suspect it might have had the long air-intake. Also, being a early plane, it would not have the bulges under the wing.

    The box contains these items

The only picture I have been able to locate so far is of the aft fuselage only, though it clearly show the late canopy, that is not proof that the other modifications existed, as the "round" and "square" hoods are interchangeable. Well - if you or anyone else wish to make the E-0 with the E-4 front - the remainder of the AM kit is up for grabs! PM me anyone that wants it.

    Exhausts and glass

A month ago I added the exhausts

but I did not get around to post the progress. No matter, then I can give you even more progress today! I carved out the slots for the PE parts

it was not at all nice, but now I know how to do it next time I feel like making a very early Emil.

With last months work uploaded, it is time for todays work, namely installing hoods and windscreen

I had been planning on using some vac-formed pieces, but the kit ones look quite nice, so on they went.

now some masks, paint the inside color, then it is primer and paint. Exciting!

Canopies look great, Erik (@airbum). Good choice. Vacuform canopies are evil.
