Nice progress, my friend @airbum! Cockpit looks great!

@johnb, @lis, @fiveten, @lgardner, @gblair, @chinesegeorge, @j-healy, @skyraider3d and “silent” followers, it has been 3 months since last update – apologies! (time has been one factor, another the exhausts – I will need to order some E-0 parts and use the PE exhaust from that AM kit)

Balance!

The balance-horns gets modified and the modified cooler is installed

The special Emils did have an aerodynamic fairing to the aileron balance

I simply fill in the plastic ones with a bit of LqS (Liquified styrene) and sand to shape.

During my efforts to modify the oilcooler, the entire unit moved inwards due to all the glue and LqS

It is now simply too narrow and too high, so a lot of cutting and persuading was necessary.

next up I expect the exhausts have arrived – in the meantime the radiators and flaps will be installed. I sincerely hope to make another update before another 3 months has passed.

I have been trying to make the exhausts work, but now I am waiting for some AM parts to arrive

And that also means my plan A wich needed the cowl to be left off until the end has failed, and I can move on to B – enabling the cowl to be glued in place

next I have to get on with the undercarriage, radiators and flaps

All the changes are really starting to come together, Erik (@airbum). Can't wait for the paint to pull all of these changes together.

I do the same thing, Erik (@airbum), except my pauses aren't quite as long. When I am scratchbuilding or converting a model, I like to pause now and again to plan my next move. Slow and steady wins the race.
