I am not afraid of using masking tape for NMF, I use special low adhesive tape for wall painting. I barely use Tamiya tapes (but narrow stripes are useful).
It was my bad, I did bad surface preparation.

Nice save Martin @naviatik, nothing will be seen when you are finished with the weathering and all, and a reminder to us all to prepare the surfaces properly. Thank you for sharing this experience.

    Bearcat got decals and wash.
The aircraft had quite worn red borders of insignia, I guess I captured the quite well. They just need a bit gray overlay to be not so bright.
Folding wing tips are drying now and I would finish them tomorrow.
I would like to spray also smoke and make the weathered look of wing. Fuel tank is done already.
    more pictures tomorrow.

I feel really good, this weekend was full of action!

I did a lot work and the kit is just few steps from finish. There was not much fun when building it, so I really looked forward to painting phase.

OK, there were some minor troubles, but it is starting looking really really nice!

I made some wearthering - I was very very careful to not overdone, still prepared to wash off everything.

In the end I did not have to, everything was under control.

First, I made worn insignia with not much sharp kniefe, but it was not good. Therefore I took AGAMA Aluminium polishable paste and finished all insignia weathering with it. Then I applied wash - AK neutral gray.

Some dirt on wing is made with oil mixture (gray+brown) - first I made small dots and then blur them with cotton stick.

Smoke is all Tamiya matt acrylics. First brown, them black and white just after exhaust.

There is also smoke under the belly, not visible on pictures.

For almost all weathering I used pictures of real machine and the rest is based on other similar types or other aircrafts.

Thanks guys. I assembled undercarriage and pylons. Fuel tank is also attached.
I am letting it dry a bit and get some time to think about next step. I don't want to miss something.
