I went ahead and ordered the Tamiya 40mm masking tape and a circle cutter. Thanks for the suggestion!

Also, yes I’m going to go with the Grey-Green.

This evening I did a good amount of PE work on the Mogami. While the glue was curing; I decided to dive into the D3A1 Val. My first task was to enhance details on the kit.

I recently purchased some new rivet tools and thought this was a good opportunity to test them out. My lines are not as straight as I would like, but that’s something that will hopefully get better with practice.

Very nice work on the rivetting, Keith @greenterrorz
Which rivetting tool did you use to get this done.

    Thank you.

To make these rivets, I used a rivet maker I found on Amazon. I bought 2 different sets ranging from 0.7mm spacing up to 1.3mm I believe.

Prior to this tool, I was using the Trumpeter rivet maker and found it very challenging to handle. The rolling blade on the Trumpeter version is at least 3x larger than the new tool I bought. The smaller diameter wheel allows for more precise control.

Over the past week I was able to get the interior painted and complete. Next step will be joining the fuselage.

Cockpit looks very realistic, Keith @greenterrorz. I have always wondered what using that bomb aiming sight was like in turbulence.

    Thank you @fiveten @johnb @gblair

I was able to get the fuselage joined together without much issue. Once I attached the wings, I ran into some fitting issues as you can see below

To remedy this, I added some plastic cement and utilized my paint shaker to pull the wings closer to the fuselage.

After letting it cure for a day, the issue was resolved. I followed it up with a bit of Vallejo white putty where needed and sanded the seem lines.

Next up I’ll be restoring the panel lines and rivets where I had to sand. I also need to do rivet work on the tail.

    Nicely corrected, Keith @greenterrorz
Wing joints look perfect this way.
