Camo looks great, Spiros (@fiveten). I also think Greek camo on the F-16 looks really cool. Things are really coming together.

Looking good! I bought the set of Akan/Akah Aegean Ghost scheme for my Phantom - what did you use for yours?

Thanks my friend @gkittinger! I use enamels, the medium gray being a leftover Molak 36251, equivalent to 140Humbrol. the light gray being Humbrol 28 and the light blue being Humbrol 130 Satin White with Humbrol 25 Blue added, until it looked right to the eye.

Excellent airbrushing, Spiros. You achieve results freehanding the camo that I usually only get with masks. I think enamels maybe given you a finer, more even spray than acrylics as I get spatters too much along the way. The one exception is doing German style mottling with my custom micron. Can't go wrong with that piece of equipment but I reserve it only for the finest jobs. Love the HAF F-16 and its unique colors. Your friend will be very happy with this one.

Great combination of color. Can't wait to see the finished camo. . . .

Thanks my friends @coling and @airbum!

I am used to enamels, never tried acrylics, so all I can say is that I am happy with enamels (well, almost always, I have come into "grainy" situations a few times - maybe due to my fault). As you might have guessed, I am using my Revell Vario (which actualy is a Thayer & Chandler Vega) at its finest settings, lower the pressure a tad, thin the paint a tadder(!), hoping not to splat!

I have heard that many acrylics behave really well and it might be the way to go in the future.

One big problem I have with enamels is that whites tend to yellow with time. Maybe its me, maybe it has to do with the brand, maybe it's the top transparent coating that does it...

As goes for the white yellowing, IMHO that may be due to a topcoat? Have you ever made colorsamples - if so a long time experiment may be a plate with and one without the top coat to check.

I had a lot of trouble switching over from enamels when they started getting scarce in the US. I finally got comfortable with Tamiya paints, and now AK Real Colors. Both are hybrid paints that feature acrylic color suspended in a liquid carrier. Tamiya is very good, but has a limited color range. I now use AK Real Color, which is really good. It uses acrylic colors carried in a synthetic lacquer liquid. This liquid is supposedly less toxic than the old lacquer, and has much less odor. Tamiya is supposed to be similar, but I don't know what the liquid is. Both of these are easy to use, and neither clogs my airbrush. Win-win. :o) I think the bottom line is that we tend to use what we are comfortable with, and you get obviously good results with enamels, Spiros (@fiveten).
