Thanks my friends @gblair and @eb801! Yes, this is PVC tubing, courtesy of my plumber/electrician who is also a good friend and supplied me with tubing of various sizes 😊

It's great to have a supply of various sizes of tubing, Spiros (@fiveten). You never know when you might need some.

I am in the midst of moving my hobby room around, so everything is in turmoil. The latest casualty is that I couldn't find my container of fishing weights that I use for nose weights, so I couldn't close the fuselage today. I am sure I will find something suitable. All the interior stuff is ready to go.

I did find a big surprise today. I spent some time trying to figure out the best way to attach the pull-down ejection handle and the ring between the legs. They are yellow with black stripes. The ring between the legs will be visible from both sides, so I was trying to figure out the best way to mount it to minimize seeing the side that isn't printed. Well, the big surprise is the Quinta has somehow figured out how to print on both side of the "decal", so no need to hide one side. Very cool.

Your seat and cockpit looks fantastic, my friend @gblair! Very cool that the ejection handles are printed on both sides. I did not use any weight in my Starfighter and it looks ok, no tail sitting.

Thanks, Spiros (@fiveten). It is really cool that they have figured how to print the colors on both sides of the "decal". Nice to know about the nose weight. I figure I might find my weights in a week or two.

That's a beautiful cockpit and seat, George @gblair
Lots of details on those Quinta decals and indeed amazing to see how they did this double sided printing.
Thanks for letting us know that nose weight is not required, Spiros @fiveten

I love how the three of you are doing the same planes together. Following the builds with great joy!πŸ™‚
George @gblair, i just bought some liquid gravity from deluxe materials for noseweight, maybe that’s something for you?

Thanks, John (@johnb). I find it amazing that they have figured out how to print on both sides of the "decal". It took some cutting and fitting to get the Quinta to fit in the Italeri cockpit. I think all of our cockpits will look the same when viewed through the closed canopy.

Hi Felix (@fxrob): Doing a build like this is fun, especially since they are all the same kit. It will be fun to see them all complete. I have thought about getting some liquid gravity, but I also have a large container with various sizes of fishing weights. The problem is that the container is lost during my room renovation. It will eventually turn up.

Be careful about the Liquid Gravity. I purchased a couple of bottles of this several years ago and one of them rusted to a solid mass and is unusable. The weight of these small fragments is very low and it may not be enough in certain applications. I purchased some lead sheet from Amazon and when I need weight, I can take that lead sheet and pound it into any shape I need. And if necessary (and with appropriate safety precautions), could melt it and cast it into specific shapes (although I have never actually needed to do that). Another option is Tungsten which is heavier and can be found in fishing sections. It is more expensive though. Lead sheet is cheap. I have enough to last me and 5000 other modellers for the rest of our lives! πŸ™‚

Thanks for the heads up, Carl @clipper! I just bought a bottle for the Airfix Liberator. Maybe i won’t use it now!
@fiveten, Spiros that green Starfighter looks great!

Felix (@fxrob), just to be clear, my Liquid Gravity rusted in the bottle. It does work as a weight, so don't throw it out. I just feel that lead sheet is a more cost effective solution.

Thanks my friend @fxrob! Next the Starfighter will receive a lighter green and tan for the Vietnam camo.
