I am always amazed at how well a coat of primer pulls everything together. Looks great, Erik (@airbum).

Primer is always a great base.
I personally keep my primer also on the thin side.

Thank you all for comments and info

@fiveten, Alan Parsons Project is always a good idea 🙂
@gblair, dont it just make the thing look like something with the primer on.
@JohnB, it is - and will be for my future builds I think - done a few without it, but as George said it pulls everything together - and you can correct a few flaws before adding paint. I shall be making mine very thin in the future too - just such a lot easier to spray and to clean the brush after use.

    Farbton 65

With the primer dry it is time to get some color

And as usual it is the belly that gets it first. It is to be Farbton 65, lichtblau.

A lot of tape and gum has been used beforehand-

Many small parts needs the color as well

It got two layers thinned xtracolor X202 over two days, and that seems to hold up nicely

now it has to dry for some days before the first of the three upper colors can be airbrushed

You can never have enough of 65 paint when doing German aircraft.
    Looking great, Erik.

It is always a nice feeling to see that first color go on the plane, Erik (@airbum). You get a sense of satisfaction that everything will wrap up nicely. By the way, Alan Parson's Project gets my vote, too.

I have had problems with posting pictures too... Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I like how the RLM 65 looks on your 109 !

    Going well Erik!
I’ve built this kit and liked it very much, so much that once Zvezda launched their G-6 I immediately bought also. That one I posted here at iModeler, but the F-2 I did not. Perhaps one day.
Following the paint part keenly because it’s the best part of any build 😉

    Masking for the weekend

With the 65 dry it is time to prepare for some more paint in the coming weekend

Rather low demarcation line – and the lower cowling has to be masked and painted seperately

During masking I discovered a nasty sinkmark.

It seems to be a problem with the Zvezda and Tamiya Thin?

Well, some LqS and ready for sanding in a few days

    - and then it will be time for the next color – farbton 63 I think it will be

By the way - thanx to the iModeler team for getting the site going that fast again. And not only is it working, it is working very well again - thank you people!

AMS (and, more specifically 109 AMS!) will not allow you {b]not[/b] to work on your 109s, no matter how hard your job schedule might be, my friend @airbum!

    Masking is looking great!

About the sink mark, it might be that the Zvezda styrene is on the "sensitive" side, but, it might also be that an amount liquid glue had stagnated under the mark, for whatever reason (a combination of the two seems believable...).

But, since we do have LqS now, what do we have to fear?!

    Waiting for your 63!
