The Mule
I decided that I need a paintmule
And going through the stash I found that I have quite a few Hasegawa 109’s that I have never built. One is even a FiSK199, and I have two different kits of that one. I probably will use a eduard 109 to make the FiSK199, so the majority of parts are available for a mule.
It is not going to be fitted with a interior, so fast forward it is
-
1. very basic detail on these kits. No rivets but very nice details otherwise
-
1. just added to give some weight to let the wing/fuselage seam fit
Major assembly yesterday evening
And finished today before breakfast!
-
1. VERY noce sharp edges on the coolerflaps - and some sinkmarks on the flaps
-
1. WOW - crystal clear and flawless
I have actually never built a Hasegawa 109 before, so I was actually rather pleased with the quality of the kit! Yes, it shows its age, and there are so many offerings out there that are better in so many ways. BUT – the canopy! WOW – perfect clear parts, and ultra thin too! Now I almost regret having doomed this one to become a paintmule, but that might encourage me to break open another box later on for a proper build. Fortunately I have a few of these in the stash.
as always comments are more than welcome – what are your thoughts on having a dedicated paintmule?
