And they are about to leave

With the decision on where to send them, the three early birds are just about ready to fly

Having spent the first day of the year at the workbench (lost track of time) the three early ones are about ready to go, so here you have one last look at them before they depart to their own topics.

    Three happy 109’s

    In no particular order;

As mentioned they will become two Doras and one Caesar

If I am unable to decide on the exact individuals for the Doras thay may have to share a log, but I think at least one is decided

    Exciting, isn’t it 🙂

Stay tuned on the group to check the identities

    Erik, @airbum
You never cease to amaze me... These look very much like they could have on the Messerschmitt assembly line many years ago. The control chains and trim wheels look fantastic. Do you have seat harnesses for all the seats too ? Now I'm anxious to see how detailed the other cockpit side wall will look once completed.

You also stirred my interests with your decision with the choice of markings... 🙂

Thank you gentlemen. Louis (@lgardner), as far as the seatbelts goes (and a lot of other stuff) they are included in the PE sheet, and will be one of the next items on the list I think, but all will be revealed when they get their own topics.
    Stay tuned 🙂

Thank you for all the kind words and comments gentlemen. I shall be sending the three early birds off in a minute!

Spiros (@fiveten) and John (@JohnB), those PE parts do make a difference.

Louis (@lgardner), these three are off to new horizons, making room for the next wonderings here in this topic.

Greg (@gkittinger), the wait is over!

    And they are off!

Having had a think, the three early 109’s are off to new homes

They will be build as 2 D-models and one C-model

At least I think that is it, the very final decision will present itself in the presentation of the individual planes in their own topics.

I have made the threesome from AMG kits, but in the stash is a Modelsvit D that is not only very nice, but also has some nice choices. One of them is a Swiss D, and that is reserved for the kit when I get to that one, but there are some nice markings for four other planes, and two of the choices from the decals will be used for two of the D’s from AMG

The obvious choice is Mölders 7o79. I had been thinking of Handricks 7o56, but recent research shows this one to be a B, and not a D.

I was tempted to other Legion Condor planes, but the ones I would like to build are even earlier, so the next one will be a C-model – and with a LW GB looming in the distance, it may be on hold for that to jump into groups.

And that leaves me with a D

Again the Modelsvit decals comes to the rescue

I shall use the decals for V6+01, that was in use in Hungary in 1943

and with that they are gone from the 109 Werke topic

Ah - I just bought some similar Hungarian decals for one of my builds! Love the colors of the camo and markings on the Hungarian aircraft.

Like Greg mentioned, that scheme of the V6+01 is great.
Looking forward to see it applied on your build.

    New additions to the 109stash

a few packages arrived, and within were a few additions to the 109werke

In order to keep the stash intact I added a handful of 109’s to the stash here. In addition to some Tamiya 109’s (the new 109G-6 and the old but still nice 109E-3) I had a delivery from SBSmodel

The weapons set has already been presented over in the Ha-1109 topic, but of course these will be used with a new 109G-6 and a new HA-1112 K.1L conversion kit to make the armed version of the HA-1109.

OK, that was not really in-progress, or was it? – at least with the projects in line right now, it may take some time before the 1112 will be started up

Seems like your 109 stash is even bigger than my entire stash, Erik.
A lot of hours to be spent.
