I have never built a Tamiya Mustang, so I'm way past due for that. However I have built the AM version. It's a nice model.
Just be careful at the engine / nose to main fuselage joint. If not you can end up with a step there, that needs some additional work to get smooth. I also somehow managed to craze the rear plexi-glass side windows... They look good until light hits them at just the right angle. Then you can see how they have internally cracked.
One last mistake I did with mine was I glued the inner "clam shell" landing gear doors in the "DOWN" position. On these early Allison Mustangs, the doors didn't droop after the engine was shut down. I don't think the flaps did either. To the best of my knowledge, this was something that happened with the Merlin powered variants.
