The finish line is straight ahead. You going to sling an antenna wire? @johnb

Looking awesome, my friend @johnb! You got the final shade just right, absolutely realistic.

@gblair, @eb801, @fiveten, thanks a lot all. There will absolutely be an antenna wire. Uschi van derRosten wire will be used for that.

Uschi van der Rosten antenna wire applied.

Masks removed from the front and rear windows as well. Next will be mounting the remaining canopy parts in open position.

Well I am very late to this build thread. All I can say is very nice work fellas. I've got most of these kits in my stash waiting for a build to occur. I do have a couple of interesting tidbits to add. At 67 years old, I have never built a Mustang (or at least completed one) since I was a teenager. The only one I can ever remember building was Monograms 1/32 P-51D way back in the 60's. Of course back then, glue it together, slap some paint on it and blow it up with a firecracker!

Another tidbit is that after I complete my Constellation build, I am going to be building the Tamiya P-51B so let's see if I can actually finish this one.

For the last tidbit, those unfinished Mustangs were Otaki P-51D 1/48 (never got past the interior paint stage as I was in the Navy at the time), Accurate Miniatures P-51A started and well along in early 2000s but I got sidelined by a truly awful build of the Trumpeter 1/32 P-38 Lightning which was so bad that I sold my entire stash and pulled away from model building for nearly 10 years. The P-51A along with a half finished F-100 (Monogram) were sold as part of my stash. The P-38 is in a land fill in Texas.

Sometimes some models fight us too hard, as was the case with your Trumpeter P-38, my friend @clipper! At least, you are back into modeling, all good now!
Looking forward to see your Tamiya Mustang built!

@clipper, thank you, Carl. I'll be looking forward to your P51 build, for sure you will get it finished this time.
@fiveten, thanks a lot, Spiros. Just some tiny bits and cleanup prior to calling it done.

Looks great, John (@johnb). Your antenna wire is well done. I have always struggled with getting an antenna wire in place, and it remains my least favorite task in model building.

Glad to see you are building again, Carl (@clipper). I also hit a dry patch in modeling, eventually coming back, only to find out all of the techniques and materials had changed. Big learning curve coming back. Now I am completely retired, a little older than you are, and glad to be building again.

Hardest part of building Mustangs is trying to choose a paint scheme and markings. So many choices!

Indeed, my friend @clipper! Too many gorgeous Mustang schemes!

@gblair, thanks a lot, George. Antenna wires are also not my favorite part. Struggling with attaching them nicely as well.
@clipper, looking forward to your eventual choice. Dozens to choose from.

Calling the "Shangri La" done. Will give it another inspection tomorrow with daylight and prepare it for a photoshoot.
