@gblair - Ah yes, the phantom cat hair in the paint. There's a rule that the more monochrome the paint job (so things are more obvious) the more likely the cat will shed in the vicinity and the modeler will be less likely to take that last swipe of the surface before painting.

Finished. I'm personally pretty jazzed with the result. I have wanted a "yellow peril" instrument trainer since I got my first Monogram kit back when it was new and came in that scheme - which I couldn't do as well as I wanted at age 10.

With regard to the Engine Grey flaps, according to my friend Admiral Don Shelton, that was done on the instrument trainers to be sure the flaps could be seen down, because a pilot doing IFR training might get into "overwhelm" and the T-28 didn't land well flaps up.

Indeed the kit is "klunky" but with careful assembly it looks good when done.

A wonderful yellow bird, Tom @tcinla.
It will definitely stand out between all your other builds.

You can't lose with a Navy trainer painted bright yellow, Tom (@tcinla). I really like the T-28, and I have several of the old Monogram's and a couple of Roden's that I plan to build when I get done with my upcoming house move. I hope mine looks half as good as yours.

@gblair - just take your time fitting things. The klunky kit can be un-klunked.

    Excellent result, my friend @tcinla.
Yes the yellow really stands out.
Congratulations on it: Rodens are not the easiest to put together, let alone painting them yellow.

Tom - You should be jazzed...your Trojan looks great in yellow and it's a departure from your usual builds. Yes, Roden kit parts are very "klunky" and some of the parts are overly thick. I really didn't care for this kit, but like you said, if you take your time, one can achieve a fine result as you have shown here. Kinetic should use their Pucara tooling skills and come out with a decent new tool 1:48 T-28 kit. Wouldn't that be nice?

A couple shots of the model totally completed. Full review at Modeling Madness this Thursday, April 29.

Yes, the forward canopy should be "tipped back" just a bit in the slid-back position.
