Thank you, mates!
@airbum Erik, I've tried a universal painting stand (made of plywood, I think), but then I've got back to these. The reason is simple - the universal one is too big for my desk. Also, I use my "custom shop" stands for transporting. Not this year, for sure, as all of the shows were canceled, but maybe next year.
@charles-whall Hope, somebody will do the spare part with the late pump control, Charles. Aires or the similar company. Regarding the AK RC paints – great lacquers!
@gblair I also do some post-shading, George. I still didn't get the marbling technique well enough to do only it. The contrast should be stark - from almost black to 100% white, and for me, it's hard to achieve. And then you need to control the color, so it does not blend the marbling away. And you may have the issues I have with this Spit - see below.
@lgardner I think there should be an endless GB for Spits, Louis! And I would start a new Tamiya's Spit - it should be the great kit to build. Regarding the field modifications. There was a funny thread at one of the chats about this, and somebody has posted a war-time photo of a 109F with the modified 109G-10 cowling which is kinda crazy, but possible.
Next time I would buy the mask for the A pattern – not easy stuff to cut it properly. And after applying the Dark Green, and removing the masks, I've realized that Dark Earth is too light. It's not an issue with the AK RC colors – it's me. I should be adding another layer or two of it, but I was trying to not overpaint the marbling. So, I've tried to fix the situation by applying a dark brown filter. Didn't help much, and I will leave it as is, hoping that after all of the weathering, it will look a little bit darker. Will see.
