Tamiya 5th Air Force F-16

The aircraft is my interpretation of F-16CJ Block 50 CCIP 92-3895 that serves as the commander’s jet for the 5th Air Force based at Misawa AB, Japan. It is the Tamiya kit with Afterburner decal set 48-015 with the Eduard F-16 pre-painted [...]

1/48 Hasegawa A6m2-K trainer 302nd Naval Group.1945

Fairly weathered due to being an old A6m2. Taken off combat duties, fitted with a second cockpit ( at the expense of the front pilots canopy.) I really enjoyed this kit and love a bit of orange. 🙂

Hasegawa 1/48 scale N1K2-J George

Hello all! Here is my Hasegawa Shiden-Kai, built straight from the box. The only add on was the EZ Line antenna wire. Once assembled, I sprayed Testors Metalizer Aluminum from a can as a primer coat, then I used Tamiya IJN Green acrylic [...]

Yellow ‘1’, W.Nr. 5057, was flown by the commander of 6. Staffel JG 51, Josef Priller, and underwent several camouflage color modifications through its career. According to some sources, the initial scheme was composed of RLM 70/71/65. [...]

1:48 Arii F4U-1A Corsair, Kepford’s “White 29”

Here's my rendition of the Arii (originally produced by Otaki?) 1:48 scale F4U-1A Corsair. Even though it's well over thirty years old, the Arii kit builds into a nice Corsair. The good points are very accurate outline and shapes, finely [...]

Gerhard “Gerd” Barkhorn (20 March 1919 – 8 January 1983) was the second most successful fighter ace of all time after fellow Luftwaffe pilot Erich Hartmann. Barkhorn joined the Luftwaffe in 1937 and completed his training in [...]

1/48 Tamiya Bf109 E-4, Maj. Helmut Wick, Geschwaderkommodore JG 2, Beaumont, France – Nov 1940

The appearance of this aircraft comes from a period in time when it was flown by Maj. Helmut Wick, and after many modifications to the camouflage scheme and tactical markings. The changes mirrored not only Wick’s ascension through the [...]

Spitfire F.24A 'What If' build

Like most folks (especially aviation modellers) in the hobby, I've built a number of 'What If' projects over the years. When I do them, I tend to do them as 'relatively possible', I'm not one for building rocket-powered Sopwith Camels' in [...]
