Here is another "desk top" styled gift for a friend who crewed on these in the U.S. Navy in the late 1940's.
1/48 Monogram PBY-5(A) Catalina.
I know this isn't everyone's style, but I like to build models that look like desktop displays.

This is Tamiya's lovely Raiden in 1/48. Sweet little bird, had a lot of fun weathering it too. Enjoy the pix. 🙂

This was going to be a double build along with the new Airfix Mk.I, but when I got started I just kept going. This kit just falls together & the only modification was to reduce the windscreen side panels to improve the proportions. [...]
Another shelf of doom finish. Corsair painted with Model Master Paints. Weathered with Mig wash. Tamiya Pilot finished with Tamiya paints and Mig wash.
