1/48 ESCI Henschel Hs-129

September 7, 2013 · in Aviation · · 4 · 3.1K

This is the old Hs-129, which still holds it's own, from a distance. Like most my others, it's OOB. It was the Eastern Front, winter scheme that caught my attention after building my first Hs-129 in standard Luftwaffe camo.

  1. That's very cool Joe! I built this same kit with that honkin' big 75mm gun. And coincidentally, I've been rehabbing her this very weekend. Since it was finished, the main gear wheels have been "splayed out" a little bit and it has always bugged the hell out of me. I finally removed them and got them straight. Your fine build has inspired to me take some pics of mine. Thanks, and congrats on a great model plane!

  2. Joe,
You have made a very ugly airplane (my opinion) look like a beauty queen. Can you imagine what it was like to fire that weapon. You would almost think it would be like putting on the brakes. I like the scheme.

  3. Like Frank said, you've made an ugly airplane look interesting. I particularly like that "late winter/early spring" camouflage.

  4. It's a great looking camoflage scheme, Joe, and you've done your usual good job in applying it. To an ignorant on-looker like me, it seems the Germans spent more time thinking up new colour schemes then they did flying, which fortunately gives modellers many opportunities!
