M1A2 Abrams with TUSK
This is the 1/35 Dragon SEP kit of the Abrams MBT, with the Legend TUSK (Tank Urban Survival Kit) upgrade.
The kit is a little hard to find now, I believe, and I got mine from someone in our club who was thinning out his armour stash. The kit is highly detailed in itself, and builds into a fine model.
The Legend set is comprised of resin, photoetch and wire pieces. There are nearly 100 reactive armour tiles, which are individually painted.
The display base is from Phoenix Models, and I ordered mine directly from them (China). It’s a vacform kit which requires assembling and painting. The wall slogans are from a set of Archers trasnsfers. The Coke and Volvic bottles, with coolers, are from a DEF Models set (Korea).
The figure was from my stash, but it’s been adapted for headgear, etc.
My primary reference was Tankograd’s book of the Abrams MBT.

Very impressive. I like the fact that you treated each element as an individual model & then brought it together as a whole.
Good camera work also.

Very well done with amazing attention to detail. Legend makes some nice stuff, but their resin smells to high Heaven.

Hello Rob. Very nice work on the Abrams. The base and the coolers, bottles etc. really give a “lived in” appearance in its working environment. Your extra effort really brings it to life.

Good to see some more modern armour being modelled, Rob, and this is particularly good. Your attention to detail is great, interesting to see the drinks of choice for the crew.

Very simply, this is outstanding.
