Bell AH-1 Huey Cobra, "The Gremlin".
Hi guys, this is the old Vietnam Huey Cobra in 1:32 scale by Revell. I have no idea how old this kit is, older than me I think, as the it is no longer in production. I managed to find it on E-bay for a bargain price complete with extra decal sheets.
Some parts of the kit were very basic due to its age, so I replaced the inaccurate rocket pods (which highly resembled fuel tanks) with some spare sidewinders I had lying about, purely for aesthetical purposes! I had some spare belt buckles also so the seat belts were crafted by folding some masking tape back over on itself and spraying black.
Although rather inaccurate and a poor fit in places, this was still a quick and easy kit to build, and a lot of fun! However I feel that my collection now also needs the modern Super Cobra in it, so I have already started to stockpile aftermarket parts and decals! Cheers.

You've got a nice finish on this model, Richard, and it's good to see a model where the extra detail in the cockpit can actually be seen and appreciated.

Cheers George, thanks very much. I've just started building the Hayabusa, the detail kits are here eventually. The carbon fibre is from Scale Motorsport, and the PE is from Crazy Modeler. Both Australian companies.

Richard,
This is outstanding. You have done an absolutely beautiful job on this. If your cuisine is as good as your models it has to be delicious.

Thanks very much Frank, much appreciated! I spend a lot more time cooking than I do modeling unfortunately so I should hope it's alright! Cheers.

Thank you Robert! I knew it was an old one, but I didn't realise it was that old!

I built one way back around that time, still have the directions If not the models, I've saved most of the directions, got them in binders.
