Scale Model World Telford 2013 (Pt 3)

November 12, 2013 · in Show Reports · · 10 · 2.5K

Here are the last few photos I'm posting from the Nationals. Once again, apologies in advance for any duplications across the three postings. Check out Part 2 as it was updated with additional images after the original posting.

By the way, the blue 'Bugatti-like' vehicle shown here (and earlier) won Best in Show. The modeller is Italian and he also won with a similarly themed diorama in 2012.

  1. Many thanks for taking the time to do all these posts.
The Bugatti type has a "Punk Steam" (i think that's the term) look to it.
Definitely impressive no matter what it is.

    • As it happens, I think the title of his piece from last year was "Steam Punk Time Machine" or similar...

    • "Steam Punk,"
The Tesla-Bugatti racer. Based on the one-off Bugatti roadster of 1933, with the "balloon" fenders (you can see it in the Petersen Museum here in the city of Lost Angles - the coolest looking car ever).

He did the monowheel last year, with the woman in the leather outfit as the driver.

Just fantastic work - the creativity and talent are soooo original.

  2. The Senior National Champion of Scale ModelWorld 2012 and 2013 is Stefano Marchetti. In 2012 he produced his Modern Steam Monobike 1896. Our show website for 2013 is being updated in the next few days but there is a picture of his 2012 entry on this page.
