This one’s a ‘smoker’

November 7, 2013 · in Automotive · · 11 · 3K

It's red, it's fast, it's good looking, but it's Japanese, not Italian. This is 's scale kit of the 2001 works bike,

it's a 500cc two stroke machine, ridden by Italian Max Biaggi. Here it is without the cowlings , and here's the real thing . I bought the kit second hand (it's out of production now), and it came complete with after market Marlboro decals by Crazymodeler. I think the red livery works very well with the black and white Marlboro markings. It's built OOB with the exception of the decals, using Tamiya sprays and acrylic paints throughout. Thanks for looking and hope you like it.

  1. George, that is beautiful ! The Marlboro decals set it off just right. As usual, it looks real. Nice work.

  2. You know what...? I think your model looks better than the photo of the "real" bike with the guy in the background. Amazing. Nice job.

  3. I can hear it idling (!) at 7k rpm.

  4. Yet another great build George. How do you do it, I don`t know, it must be something in the the Chinese air or water!
So realistic, as Craig said, hard to spot the difference.

  5. George.
you never cease to amaze me. This is gorgeous. Are you in fact a M/C rider or do you just like them?

  6. It looks like it's going 100 mph on its stand! Flawless paint and slightly dis-colored exhaust, a beautiful job.

  7. Thank you for all your kind comments, guys.

  8. Great work! Attention to detail and very clean finish - hard to tell it from the real thing.

  9. Very nice George, usual standard as always. I've not seen this bike before, probably before my time! Is that four exhaust cans?

  10. Awesome! Love these motobikes kits 😉

  11. Another amazing bike George, I love the red and it looks so nice without the farings.
