Panzerhaubitz 2000
Or PzH 2000 to it's friends. This is a 155 mm self-propelled howitzer. Developed for the German army. It is also used by Italy, Netherlands and Greece. It has a maximum range of 35 km for standard rounds & 40+ km with assisted rounds. It has primarily been deployed in Afghanistan.
This is a Revell of Germany 1/72 scale model. Built OOB using Tamiya paints. The tracks are plastic length & link which is common on RofG kits. The marking are for the German army & it has been mildly weathered. Antenna come from a house painting brush.
It is approximately 8" long, not counting the barrel.
P.S.: I forgot, I did mold the mantlet. It is not in the kit.
Nice one Al, a big beast on 1/72nd scale
Lovely paint job as well, weathered just right too.
A very well done sir.
Al,
This is a very impressive build. You have done an excellent job on this. It really must be a very sturdy and remarkable tank to traverse roads that it is sitting on here.
That would be a 1:1 decorative step stone it's making it's way across.
Nice...I like it. Big difference in outdoor vs. indoor photography, huh?
Right you are about the outdoor photography, but it's back to the basement till spring thaw.
It looks bigger than 1/72, Al, your finish sets it off, as do the outdoor photographs.
As George said, it looks bigger in scale. I have some Dragon 1/72s to build and the detail is great. The quality, price and small display size really make me think I should stick with that scale.
Nice, clean build. Great photo angles, the model looks a lot bigger than 1:72.
that's downright pretty
