Tamiya 1/48 Sherman Firefly Ic

September 16, 2014 · in Armor · · 16 · 2.7K

This is my seventh completed model this year. I painted it with Vallejo acrylics and weathered it with a mix of Vallejo colors, enamels, oils and powders. The kit was a very fun build. Construction only took me two evenings allowing me to get to the part I enjoy most: painting and weathering. The base is one I use for another kit, but made a good scene for my Firefly.

  1. Nice one Scott, and on a very nice diorama. These 1/48 scale models sure look great. I have yet to build one .But I am intrigued with the quality of detail. Well done.

  3. Good looking Sherman Scott.

  4. WELL DONE! Love the weathering.

  5. Seven must be your lucky number, Scott, great looking model, nice finish and cool photographs.

  6. Excellent Scott, your weathering is really superb just the right touch.

  7. Well done, great build, nice weathering and perfectly arranged in a diorama.

  8. Hi Scott. What everyone else said ... Looks great. I've only done a few kits but never in 1/48. Easier to work with than 1/72 and saves on the shelf space and the price. I know Tamiya has really invested in this scale.

  9. Nice to see some Armour muscle it's way in amongst the aero offerings. Very well presented.

  10. Scott,
The only thing I can is fantastic. I like it.

  11. Great job with this one!

  12. Sweet little kits those Tamiya 1/48`s.
    Nicely done and weathered too.
    Well done Scott.

  13. I'll chip in with my "nice work" comments as well - it really does look good. Those Tamiya 1/48 kits are the only thing that might make be build something without wings 🙂 I like the little diorama you did a lot - the setting and the weathering on the tank look great. I know next to nothing about armor, but I know that looks really nice.

  14. Thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone. I sincerely appreciate them!

  15. Very nice Scott, some lovely tonal variation going on.

  16. Nice job Scott. That looks like a very big gun on that thing.
