Diamond t 969A Wrecker
This is the Mirror Models kit of the Diamond T Wrecker, it’s a complicated kit with lots of small parts and lots of even smaller parts, I added most of the LZ Models upgrade PE set, it was painted with Vallejo and weathered with AK interactive products. The wire ropes were replicated with braided fishing line that was stained with E’TAC sepia smoke ink.

These are excellent kits, and yours is a great example of the type. At Telford, MM were selling these at a big discount on the last day – wish I had picked one up!

I’m seriously considering getting the hard top version, but first I want the Cat D7 they are releasing in the new year.

Yes they have an interesting range of unusual types, all superbly rendered, and I think to have them set in a simple but effective vignette might also provide a further ‘value added’ factor in most cases. Once again congratulations on a great looking model.

Stunning to every last detail! That’s a great idea to use fishing braid, I might have to borrow that one of you! The windscreen is fantastic as well mate. It’s impossible to tell that’s a model to be honest!

Looks perfect, well built. I have this kit & was wondering about it’s quality. You have given me a positive answer to that question.

Hi Tom, thank you.
Mirror Models do their kits in 1/35, check out the Cat D7 Bulldozer due for release in the new year, I’m waiting for that with baited breath.

Excellent well done wrecker. I have heard of this company but this is the first time I have seen one built and the detail is amazing. I also want to thank you for the link to their website. I am going to pick up a couple of kits from them. Thanks for sharing Bernard.
