1/48 AMT A-20B Havoc

January 19, 2015 · in Aviation · · 9 · 3.3K

Long time no post so here's my latest in the line of aircraft. Seems I have an unusual attraction to the A-20. To date I've built the C and G models and now the B for your review. Seems that most B's went to the Russians so I marked this one accordingly. I added some more detail to the bombardier area from the spares box, true detail wheels, navigation lights from a P-40 kit, nylon thread for antenna wire, aluminum tube for the correct B exhaust stacks along with Model Master and Tamiya paints. Since it's suppose to be a brand new Lend Lease aircraft I just couldn't dirty her very much.

  1. Nicely finished and photographed, Tom...but she just doesn't look "right" with those red stars on her. LOL 🙁

  2. Sharp, clean build Tom. Nice work on that glass.

  3. Beautiful Havoc, Tom! Nice and clean

  4. Great looking build, Tom. I'm a fan of Lendlease subjects such as the Havoc, P-39, and Hurricane, as you get the classic airframes with unusual markings, and of course the dynamic patriotic slogans.

  5. Good to see a nice clean plane, Tom, very neat job.

  6. Nice and clean Tom.
    A nice looking Havoc.
    Well done sir.

  7. Very nice! You should do a Russian winter scheme on the next B that you build. Well done!

  8. Cool scheme Tom - I'm with Rob Pollock in liking the Lendlease schemes, and you certainly did this one justice. Let's see more!

  9. Thank you all for the nice comments.
