ESCI 1/72 M-113

September 7, 2015 · in Armor · · 7 · 2.1K

This is an oldie picked this up from an estate sale. Despite the kit's age, it built up pretty well. I thought it would be a quick little project until I dawned on me that the interior would be visible and require painting and weathering. It lacked some details, the instructions were a little vague, and the decals silvered a bit. Still, it was a nice way to add an iconic vehicle to the inventory.

  1. These Esci-s were little gems as I recall. Even today I prefer an Esci Opel blitz over an Airfix one in 1:72. Nice build! 😉

  2. Looks great ! I have an old Esci C-47 in the stash which appears promising.

  3. Nice build, Dennis...looks as good as the venerable 35th Tamiya offering.

  4. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Not only does this model looks good as the Tamiya offering as Craig say's, it looks so much LIKE it. You did a wonderful job on it Dennis, I do expect to see it forming part of a diorama.

  5. Great job Dennis , makes me want to dig into the stash and drag mine out . Must be karma I stumbled across the special forces from that kit today , don't know why there not in the box with the kit , but you know how those guys like to sneak around !

  6. Esci used to make some nice kits, and this is obviously one of them, glad you enjoyed it.

  7. Nice work! Last ESCI kit I built was a Tornado IDS, and I actually wish I had a few more ESCI kits in my stash, as it built into a nice model.
