La-5FN (KP 1/72)
La-5FN was one of the best fighter airplanes of the middle of WWII, and it was a late and the last version of La-5 before La-7. This version has a direct injection of fuel into cylinders for temporary boosting. Many aces flew this type of La-5 during the middle and late period of war.
My model represents an airplane flown by soviet ace Kirill Evstigneev (53 victories) somewhere in the middle of 1944 year. Inscription on the fuselage means that this particular plane was built on donations of a farmer (beekeeper) Vasily Victorovich Konev.
This is the new kit (released in 2015) from KP in 1/72 scale and it's a new high-quality Czech short-run with a very good detail level. It was a completely OOB build. The only additional thing I've used was painting masks.
Painted with AKAN authentic enamels from the late WWII soviet set. Weathered with oils and pigments as I usually do.
Thank you for your attention, hope you'll like this little Lavochkin!
Dmitry, Your La5FN is superb. I had to look very hard to make sure it isn't 1/48 scale. It says a lot for the KP kits & your skill, of course.
Well done. Impressive looking model. The La 5 and Mig 3 are my favourite two Russian fighters from the Great Patriotic War. Thanks for sharing this one!
That's gorgeous.
Beautiful! A mean looking machine. Like the Zippo too.
Dmitry, beautifully done as always! I enjoy seeing your work, and love that it's 1/72.
Seems everyone has the same opinion(s) as myself...(nice photos, too). 🙂
Yes, Comrade, very photogenic. Nice work.
Very nice Dmitry! Those AKAN colors are quite different from what we thought they were.
Thank you for your comments and attention, guys!
It's just so neat, Dmitry, beautifully done, no matter what scale.
The is a beautifully made La-5FN. The finish and overall look is amazing.
