Show & TellLynchburg Air Show

May 22, 2016 · in Show Reports · · 7 · 1.7K

Mostly show, not tell - but I will say I never went to an air show before yesterday. Weather was questionable but worked out. I don't use the word 'awesome' much, but will say the Blue Angels fit that description.

Also first I ever saw a in flight, or an AT-6 Texan, not to mention a DeHaviland and Royal Navy , which kindly parked in mid-air.

  1. Glad ya had a good time and experienced some "firsts", Ralph...(I've never seen a Vampire, either).

  2. Thanks for posting. You got some nice shots.

  3. actually I think the clouds added a sense of depth to the overhead parts of the show. I'm used to mud

  4. Excellent photos, thanks for sharing, Nice to see the Curtiss Commando.

  5. Lovely shots Ralph - thanks - Commando a highlight for me - blue angels too

  6. Ralph, whose T-6s? Them GEICO people?
Is that a 2 seat trainer Vampire? I saw one at a show years ago, and it is LOUD when it spools up, and taxis.
    Good looking C-54, too.
The Blue Angels are coming here in the Fall, I hear.
I'll let you know, if you want to make the trek. I don't know what else is showing up, and our planes will probably be open, as well.
