VF-0S from Macross Zero, 1/72 Hasegawa #15

August 16, 2016 · in Sci-fi · · 21 · 3.2K

This went as a birthday gift to a dear friend who's addicted to Macross.
Display stand is Trumpeter's, the sticker is cut from the kit's box and stuck via double sided tape.
Enjoy.

  1. OK...I give up - what IS that? And what is "Macross"..? How about a little background for the uninitiated...LOL

    • Craig hello. Macross Zero is a Japanese anime based on Macross series, you might know it as Robotech in the USA.
It's basically aircraft transforming into robots, referred to as mecha in general.
Don't confuse it with Transformers tho, Macross is a bit more oriented towards the adults (there is no nudity etc.) than kids.
The vehicle designs in the show has their roots from the real life counterparts, i guess you can spot these in this VF-0.

This is as simple as i can explain, it's been going on with numerous iterations for some 30 odd years afterall.

  2. Hello murad, nice to meet you here at imodeler as well 😉
Again, a very well done Job and very inspiring! Cheers, Christian

  3. Don't know what "Macross" is, but it's a pretty cool looking machine! As a model, it is very nicely done - nice finish and weathering.

  4. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Nice work on that VF-OS, for some reason I am reminded of Star Blazers
and such, thanks for a different view. Always nice too see something different.

  5. Like Graig I'm out of the loop on this one. However that's one cool looking A/C.

  6. Dude, i LOVE Macross! I havent seen Macross Zero yet, but Robotech was my favorite show as a kid, and I watched the three storylines with my son and now he is a fan as well. Your model looks awesome. I love the weathering!

    • Ramon unfortunately past Zero the series went downhill for me, it turned into a kids fashion show with musicals and costumes and what not pretty in line with today's Japanese anime themes.
If you want to get back into the flow i'd suggest watch Plus first then Zero. If you are brave enough try the Frontier too since it's more or less Saga/Robotech modernized.

  7. I don't know what it is but I like it! Very futuristic. Very sharp build as well.

  8. Looks cool, I've seen the kits on and off over the years, now I have an explanation., thanks

  9. I'm old as well, so I've no idea what you guys are on about, but, it's a pretty cool looking model, I like it!
