Thunderbirds Recovery Vehicle (Imai, non scale)

October 9, 2016 · in Sci-fi · · 8 · 2.2K

Thunderbirds are go!
Or at least The Recovery Vehicle kind of thingie.

This is a little (9cm/3,5”) quickie one. Kit is from the old box which include Thunderbird 2 (TB2) and some sort of Recovery Vehicle.

I was kind a disappointed when opened the box. This Recovery Vehicle looked like an old small soap box and TB2 was almost smaller than this gadget which should be inside the TB2 dock(!). Very strange looking combination. I made and painted only this bizarre looking thing. Nothing for the true fan here - this is in toy category (and that is why very good to me as a practice piece as I am on an early learning curve at the moment …). Fun to paint using exotic colors & do some crazy weathering and paint tests (Vallejo colors).

The packshot really fools you in this case - it looks really technical but there are only two too simple toys inside. Old stuff.

The nice feature of the model: Those spring loaded ”huge magnets” on top of the vehicle. You can shoot them away (normally under the sofa) and rescue people in danger.

Lesson learned: Try to check what is in the box before you buy.

Anyway this was this and sorry about a bit negative story. Thank you for your time.
Happy Monday wherever you are!
