Spitfire Mk,VIII (Arii 1/48)
Hello everyone. This is my first post, since I just landed.
I usually only build on 1/72, but I wanted to try to give this kit a go.
At present there are brands that manufacture Spits with a higher level, but otherwise it would never have been born.
The kit has good shapes but very bad details. All the interior belongs to a Tamiya’s kit Mk.V (for this one I have a set from Aires), and the fitting was perfect. I used the exhausts and landing gears from ICM kit, the sliding canopy is from Falcon, decals from Barracuda and is fully riveted.
I painted it with Gunze on upper surfaces and Vallejo Model Air on lower ones. The degree of operability is very subjective, but I always like to work with oils, and so I did also in this Spit.
I hope you like her. Best regards.

You did an excellent job at bringing the old Arii kit to life, Angel. Very nice weathering as well, I especially like that you did not go for that boring “dead flat” look. Great post!

This is my favourite mark of the spitfire and this one of the very best builds of this beautiful aircraft I’ve ever seen. Absolute work of art on the weathering on top of such a precise and clean build. Congratulations on a stunning piece of work.

An absolutely superb model. Just goes to show what you can do with a vintage kit if you have the skills. I am totally envious of your weathering Angel. Very well done; love it!
