Greater Sydney Scale Model Expo 2018

March 18, 2018 · in Show Reports · · 24 · 2K

I attended both days with three entries in bikes, took these pic's late Sunday, I don't remember all the winners, I wish they would mark them, other places have certificates, if I am right the Phantom won large aircraft, the Porsche 935 won, the RC166 Honda won, the green airliner won, I liked the venue on Saturday but it was too hot and noisy for me on Sunday with a basket ball game going next door, over all a good event, comments and corrections welcome, I didn't recognize Darren from his avatar and if he saw me he didn't say hello ! ----- ps all the featured cars and bikes are 1/12 scale.

  5. Thanks for sharing these pics Allan. All great models on show. The cars look fantastic. The DHC-4 Caribou cought my attention, you don't see many of those build. Still got one in my stash. The Hurricane is superb!

  6. Excellent work by some very talented modelers Allen. Would find it rather difficult to judge a winner from all those entries. Thanks for posting.

  7. Yep, you Ozzies do know how to build models. 🙂

Very nice stuff here. Any information on that MG-TD? I used to own one 50 years ago. I'd get that kit if I knew what to look for.

  9. Really nice Allan, congrats on your wins.

  10. Allan, thanks for posting this. There are some really fine models on display. All of them, actually. Congrats on your wins. I'd like to see your Caribou. I had a couple of rides in them, back in the RVN. Hair raising, but impressive short field landings/takeoffs. (sniper avoidance, they said)(I felt a LOT better!) Closest thing to VTOL I've ever experienced.

    • Thanks Bernard, would have been fun, what does RVN stand for ? a couple of pic's of my Caribou for you ! I used the kit decals which are wrong for that scheme, it was around for a couple of years like that but I recently started striping it back for a repaint !
