J2M3 Raiden (Hasegawa 1/72)
I just don't know what to write in addition to the photos. This is Raiden, one of the most beautiful airplanes I know. And this is Hasegawa in 1/72 scale β the classic kit. Completely OOB, 100% of fun. Glued with glue, painted with paint. I've started to forget, what scale modeling is. Such kit is a good reminder.
Thanks for watching!
Lovely model, Dmitry. You are absolutely right, the Raiden is a very attractive aircraft, with clean aesthetic lines despite its chubby looks...kinda like the P-47, both aircrafts design around a powerful radial engine. Thanks for showing it, never saw this Hasegawa model until now
@holzhamer Thanks, Pedro!
The photos tell it all - with or without a narrative - very nice work, Dmitry.
@craigindaytona Thank you, Craig! (And no lighter this time)
Yeah...I noticed its' absence (thought maybe you got tired of me askin' for it) - π π
Wonderful work, Dmitry, especially in this scale. That canopy is crystal clear.
@dirtylittlefokker Thanks, David!
Good looking Raiden!
@berniehackettboymodeler Thank you, Bernard!
I'd be busting proud of I turned this out in 1:48, and you did it in 1:72. Gorgeous build of a gorgeous plane. You achieved the green just right--that mix of emerald and dark military green. Fabulous.
@davidathomas Thanks, David! For IJN Green I've used a slightly lightened version of Gunze H59 paint.
Excellent work, love the weathering !
@roofrat Thank you, Robert!
Dmitry, Great looking Raiden, I actually had to take another look when I realized it was 1/72 scale. Wonderful paint work and a nice touch of weathering. I like it !
@shoobiz Thanks, Terry! I always try not to "over weather" π
An absolute marvel Dmitry! Indeed, lest we forget OOB builds can be great fun! Kudos!
@michel-verschuere Thanks, Michel! Yes, we all need to do OOB from time to time π
Neat work with subtle weathering , Loved it ?
@adilcan_topgul Thank you, Adilcan!
Great looking build Dmitry.
@jacman Thank you, Anthony!
Beautiful! Like you, I also love the Raiden, and I built this same kit, and I have to say - for as old as it is, it is a lovely kit to build! Nice recessed detail, good fit - all I did was add a pilot (since mine is wheels-up). Great job!
@gkittinger Thanks, Greg! Yes, the fit of this kit is near the perfect, the only issue I had with it β positioning the instrumental panel, but it's not a big deal.
Very nice work. The "new" Hasegawa kits of 40+ years ago (after they bought Mania and hired the designers) still stand up.
@tcinla Thank you, Tom!
VERY well done, ESPECIALLY in its' scale, Dmitry! ( @starfar )
@mikegolf Thank you, Jeff!
Beautiful work! I am new.
