The annual in Hungary is on this weekend, and the iModeler Crew is at the location! Please expect our usual photo report from the event, plus quite some more in the coming days as we have set up a dedicated photo stand at the show :). It is now Saturday morning and the contest registrations are just about to begin, but the exhibition area is already quite filled with entries that were put up on Friday. So let's kick off the day with this first look at some of the 1/48 and 1/32 aircraft models on display. Enjoy!

Note from the Editor: If you were participating in the Moson show and recognize your model in this collection, please consider joining iModeler and sharing some more info about it!

  1. Very good standard as usual. Still, you’d think there were only a dozen kits in the world, such is the repetition of types on display.

    • Rob, you might be right. It's my 5th visit in Moson and you could clearly see some patterns, especially in the 1/48 aviation classes. On the other hand, other categories seem to offer av very diversified selection of subjects. I'll try to convey it in the forthcoming parts of this essay.

      • You’ve probably seen the VT I posted courtesy Barlas, so I’d say it shows a more rounded view of the show than conveyed by individual photos, but of course we need the photos for the detail that doesn’t come across in the VT. That said, there are indeed a great many conventional subjects presented in extraordinary ways.

I’ve also found a few other photos from Barlas, which I share here, hopefully not duplicated by you!

  2. Hi Editors, Some very nice models there! Good luck!

  3. One, the photography is out standing, given the lighting. Two, the composition of the photographs and how they have been cropped is excellent. A nod to clarity too. Thank you Martin.

For folks who have the opportunity to visit these events regularly it maybe Ho Hum but, for those of us who live in the sticks... or if your trying to meet and greet the general public and put on the best face for the hobby these shows are a treat.

Looks like the standards are on display but, the high level of execution and the mastery of craft is impressive.

  4. Stephen took the words right outta my mouth on this one. Thanks for sharing, everyone.

  5. A whole lot of beautiful work there. Thanks, Martin!

  6. If I ever have the opportunity to visit Moson, I'll leave my builds at home! Just beautiful work on display - lessons to learn from almost every one.
