Hans Joachim Marseille’s Bf 109G-2/Trop
This kit came straight from the box of the Academy 1:48 "Bf 109G-6/G-2 JG27" boxing. It´s a rebox of the Hobbycraft Bf 109G-6, with fuselage halves for a Bf 109G-6, so you have to make some cutting for the retractable tailwheel opening if you wish to make a proper G-2.
The decals were done by Cartograf, and were a pleasure to work with.
Hopefully, this model will show up as an article in Modeling Madness soon.
very nice Francisco...i've always loved this scheme and think Marseille may have been the greatest fighter pilot ever...good to see these old kits built
Same, I wanted to make his plane right after reading several entries of his life on the internet.
Nice clean build, my friend...great pics as well.
Thanks! It took me some time to realised a blue background was perfect for photographing models.
Very nice!
Excellent work !
I used the Hasegawa kit of this 109 and used HJM's markings on it. I have built several of the Hobby Craft versions, and they go together well too, but are sadly often over looked. One can never have too many 109's (or 190's for that matter)...
Yours look fantastic, and thanks for sharing it with us.
The Hobbycraft kit may be cheaper, but the Hasegawa one still has the edge regarding ease of assembly, since the control panel´s position for the first one has to be eyeballed.
Nice clean build!
Great looking 109
