Hi there iModelers!
Here is another project from my shelf...
Initially, this kit was released by Heller back in the 1970s. In the 1980s, I was given the opportunity to drive a bike like this myself. It was a friend‘s bike and since then I couldn't stop thinking buying one. Although I never happened to get the real one, I at least did it in 1/8 scale after Hellers latest reboxing in 2017.
In this article I also take you on a journey into my family photo album… One picture is showing me next to my brother (I am the one on the left ;-)) back in the late 1970s when I was starting to dig into mopeds and motorcycles etc.
From all my finished projects in 2018 this was the build I enjoyed the most. The colours turned out to be quite challenging because I had in mind to let it look like a shining and immaculate bike in the end.
Enjoy the pictures!
Really nice lookin' build, my friend...excellent job!
Thanks, Craig! Honestly I know about the weak points of my job there...; but that is the advantage of making photos...I do not zoom on them...
Amazingly life like! Well done.
Thank you Robert. I like your words!
Really an amazing build michael! My bug isn’t so well done like your yamaha but models with a personal background are always something special! 🙂
Thank you Patrick. When will we see your next pictures?
real nice...i used to ride a Ya-125cc in the 70's...real cheap and lots of fun...beautiful build
Thank you, Bob. Honestly I did not bury all hopes to ride this bike again; a classical one meanwhile!
Very nice indeed Michael, brings back memories.
Thank you Marc! I love the idea that our builds let memories and emotions live again….
Sooooo cool.
The current bike fashion borrows much of the style of these early off-road bikes.
I agree, Johannes. Thank you for your comment.
