Hasegawa 1:48 F-4J Phantom II
Well, here it is, after 24 years, it's finally done.
I bought this one back in 1995 when it was a state of the art kit, and of course, immediately started on it.
It came to a phase in which it had the basic colors on and after that it just sat on a shelf for 22 or so years.
So last week, after looking at it once more, sitting there on a shelf all sad I decided to finally finish it.
So, the kit is almost out of the box, painted with ModelMaster, I only added the resin ejection seats (don't remember the manufacturer) and Superscale decals for VF-92 Silver Kings, 'cause I like the all yellow tail.
So, there you have it, another Shelf Queen done. I have 14 more to do, so stay tuned.
It stood the test of time well, sir...love the F-4 (no matter HOW old it is). 🙂
Thank you Craig.
The Phantom is my phave - so no matter how long it takes to bring it to phruition! A very nice one! I haven't yet done one in Navy livery but have several in the stash that will end up that way.
Thank you Greg, looking forward to seeing your Navy Phantom!
I love it.
The kit still holds up well. The finished model has an elegant simplicity to it. Very clean looking build.

Thanx David, I appreciate it.
Great job, nothing like a full color Navy Phantom!
Cheers Robert!
Aged like fine wine.
Ha ha, right you are.
Boy I sure do love the colors the Phantoms wore! (Naval gray and white schemes in general for that matter!) Yours looks great! Everything is sharp with some nice restrained weathering! Here's one we might see on the show circuit before long! (And it is one of the oldest Phantoms still around being built in 1959 as an F4H!)

Thank you Josh. This F4H is in flying condition? If so, this is great news, a flying early Phantom will be a sight to behold in the sky!
It is very close. (And with only 461 hrs on the airframe almost new!) The ad at Controller.com has an addition that the seller will finish the plane to airworthy if the buyer wishes. (Basically sounded like overhaul and installation of the engines as all other major work has been done.) Here is the full description. https://www.platinumfighters.com/phantom2
The engines are the short nozzle type so it really will display that J-79 howl to the fullest extent!
Beautiful plane.
Thank you for the info.
A great looking 'J' bird, Phantastic!
Thanks a lot Robert, means a lot coming from you.
