Eduard’s 1/48 BF-109E-4 “Adolf Galland”

May 11, 2019 · in Uncategorized · · 13 · 4.9K

This is 's excellent BF-109E-4 'overtree' with Eduard 'Zoom' photo etch, finished as Adolf Galland's aircraft, using 'Aeromaster' decals from their 'Galland special' sheet, and painted with Tamiya acrylic's, and weathered with oils and pastels.

It's a delightful kit, the only quirk is overly wide slats, which are an easy fix. Also, added brake lines , added center supports to underwing rads, shortened canopy armour as per photos, detailed gunsight, repainted the photoetch belts.

Hope you like, thanks for looking.

Colin

  1. A sharp, clean model. The painting is very well done. Appreciate the hint about the slat size, I don’t recall ever reading anything about it.

  2. Very sharp 109 Colin!

  3. great job...probably one of my favorite schemes

  4. Very, very neat. This is beautifully realised Emil, one of my favourites with that yellow nose.

Lovely work, Colin, you nailed that camo.

  5. Fantastic work, sir...I like it a lot.

  6. Nice work.

Another solution on the slats is to take the piece cut off the slat and glue it into position on the wing. It fist perfectly and only a bit of Mr. Surfacer or other filler needed to make it disappear.

  7. Well done Colin, eye-catching paint job - lovely transition from mottle to blue!

  8. 🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
