Waco CG-4 glider on display at Cradle of Aviation museum.
Going with the D-Day theme, I think that I'd rather jump out of a perfectly good aircraft then take a ride in one of these.

Well, we're having a gliders day here 😀
Thks for sharing
I really love that museum. Many "one of a kind" artifacts and displays. My wife, Kathleen M. Rodgers, had three of her aviation poems chosen for inclusion in a special exhibit "Why do we fly? Aviators, Poets, and Dreamers" about literature in Aviation there in July 2015. We flew up there from here in the DFW area for the opening of the show.
wonderful post as always...thank you bob
Robert I had the chance to see a Waco upfront and personal at the D-Day museum at St Mere- Eglise in France. Landed on the edge of town so they built the museum over it. Had the same response, you've got to be kidding taking that glider into combat. Even more frightening, one volunteered for the paratroops, glider troops were detailed to those regiments. . No extra pay as well bummer.
Thanks for the photos, Robert. Th@t place is a bucketlister.

Nice photos! The Horsa looks a bit more solid in construction.
