RAF Mustang III – Revell 1/72
Hi iModelers:
Here is kit #2 from my modeling renaissance. The kit has pretty good detail for 1/72, but some flash and fit issues. Added a Squadron vacu-form canopy, two tiny photo etch levers you can't even see in these pictures, a guitar string (.010) for a whip antenna. Wasn't happy with kit prop as tiny tabs for blades broke off and had to be glued butt-ended, then had painting issues, so I sent away for a Quick Boost prop. Now I know why people pay for nose jobs. 100% improvement. The prop is the face of your single engined fighter.
Paints mostly Tamiya.
Kit decals depict an aircraft of No. 316 Squadron, RAF Friston, UK, August 1944.
Cheers.
You made that kit into a better model than it deserves to be. Excellent work on this. I like it a lot. You're right about the "nose job."
Thanks Tom - appreciate that.
Nice little build, Aldo...good work.
Thank you Craig.
Great looking Mustang! love the RAF colors.
Thanks Robert. I was looking at your iModeler collection, and I noticed your Macchi M.C. 202 by Supermodel. Great job on a weird kit. I bought one at a model show, and ended up building it with my 10 year old grandson as his first model. (Guess I'm a bad influence on the kid).

it was a weird kit , It had those rubber tires of which for me one was missing, so I used two from spares. Keep being a bad influence! Looks good.
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Good work on that Mustang Aldo. Your skills on the cockpit really pops out, and for that scale, it say's a lot. Thank you for sharing these images.
Thanks!
Looks great! My beloved scale, and a Brit Pony to boot! I HAVE to build one of these soon.
Thanks Greg - look forward to seeing that.
