The last Focke-Wulf

December 10, 2019 · in Aviation · · 20 · 1.8K

The Ta-152C was the last produced version of the Focke-Wulf 190. Only three prototypes were completed enough to get call signs painted on before the end of hostilities. Of course the inner nerd in me just had to build all three!

CI+XM werk # 110007 is an all plastic kit built from a Ta-152H and an Fw-190D9

VH+EY werk # 110006 is the Trimaster kit ( the one with the resin wing and nose)

GN+CA werk # 110008 is the kit with a corrected cowling.

all are 1/48

  1. Wonderful collection Paul, you are probably the sole member of the Ta152 C SIG πŸ˜‰ but it’s a great SIG. I have the Hobbyboss kit, along with a resin corrected cowling but am still to build it, but all these Cs stirred my interest again

  2. Nice trio, you did a fine job on all!

  3. And Paul Owens wins Nerd of the Week! (Whistles, Bells, Sirens, loud applause) πŸ™‚

Seriously, those are pretty darned nice.

Excellent job with these. Thanks for sharing these with us !

Very impressive that you opted to build all 3 prototypes...

I have built the Hobby Boss Werk Number 110007 V-7 kit, and was very happy with how it turned out. However when I built mine, I was not aware of the error with the radiator opening, so I built it as is straight from the box mistakes and all. Ignorance is bliss they say, but I can see myself replacing the nose sometime in the future.

The FW-190 is among my favorite planes, with the long nosed "Dora" being the best of the best... Your posting of these models has had the same effect on me as it has had on Pedro ! @holzhamer

I can feel the "Wurger itch" coming on... especially since just the other day I was looking at the Hobby Boss V-18 prototype FW-190C kit in the stash. It's odd how it looks a little similar to the P-51 with the arrangement under the rear fuselage. Those exhaust pipes were kind of funky too...
