Yom Kippur War…1/48 Ilyushin Il-28 “Beagle”, Egyptian Airforce
#6/2020
Another big beast is done.
The new Il-28 from Bobcat Models (former Xuntong) with markings from Hi-Decal. The kit is basically ok. The clear parts could be a bit clearer. Fuselage fit is good, but engine nacelles, nacelles to wings and tailplane parts need some filler.
Painted with MRP Saudi Color FS30475, Light Sky Blue FS35526 and Dark Green FS34079. Used Eduard seatbelts for the cockpit, EZ Line and fishing line for the antenna wires.

That’s great. This is the first one of these I’ve seen built. It sounds similar to the Yak-28 kit. The only fit issues involved the nacelles.

Nice clean build, and lovely livery for the Beagle. I’m doing one in Nigerian colors (well – let’s just say I have the model and the decals…)

Looks like it came together nicely. I have this one in the que after I finish My Firebar and Brewer. I wonder what their next subject will be?

Well for just an OK kit it turned out quite well. I like it.

🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Quite some time since I last seen a Beagle in model form, I can see the wait was well worth it.
A very nice build and the camouflage scheme is so well done and really makes the model stand out, nice modeling Reinhard.
