1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk.1 – 303 Squadron
This is one of my earlier builds. I used the Airfix 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.1 and the Topcolors decal set for Polish Spitfires. This decal set covers scheme's for aircraft used by the 303 squadron. The 303 Squadron was piloted by Polish pilots who escaped the occupation of Poland from Germany in World War II. The aircraft I chose was flown by Flight Leader Wojciech Koiaczkowski from July 25 until the end of September in 1941. A very great job. Without the skill, heroism, and new tactics provided by the Polish pilots, the Battle of Britain could have well been lost. Here is a great book on the subject...
