This was a 5 month long build. It gave me trouble from the start. Absolutely nothing fit.

I have discarded previous AModel builds mid-build having decided it just wasn’t worth it even though one came to nearly being finished after 4months work. What a shame because I really like their subjects.
Your right; trouble right from the box opening!
Beautiful work!

I really like the camouflage scheme on that aircraft. Great job with an ill-fitting model.

You would never know by looking at it the trouble it gave you. Great build!

Despite the trouble this piece of work looks great to me. Well done and a tribute to your persistence.

George, It was fun following you through this build (on FB) as I was going through similar struggles on a build of my own. Glad to see your struggles paid off, this is really nice. Well done !

Thanks, guys. This build will be part of a book produced by AK on weathering Soviet aircraft. I’ve taken several hundred WIP photos of it and now I have to write it and organize all the pics into some kind of cohesive story.

SO excellent! As many Soviet designs do, it looks Sci Fi!

Thanks. I love Soviet aircraft weirdness.

Thanks and I did have a gin martini with extra olives after I took the photos this afternoon.

Well done George, a true triumph of man over beast.

Congratulations on an impressive build.
Yeah, I know what you mean about A-Models (un)fit… But sometimes they are the only brand making that particular subject and we dont have choise (Last year I built the ‘Out of Africa’ yellow biplane, it was a nightmare, but at the end turned out a nice piece in my collection).
Your build is awesome I’m waiting for the book 🙂

One of the best builds I’ve seen in a long time! Congrats!

George, you efforts remind me what modeling is all about: taking an awful kit and turning it into a stunner. Really super work!
Cheers,
