1/350 IJN Akagi
Hello Everyone,
It’s been a while since my last article. I am still on hiatus on plastic modeling but I wanted to share this model. This is the Hasegawa 1/350 Akagi, with all the Hasegawa Akagi. Airbrushed with Mr.Color and Tamiya acrylics. Deck is painted with three different shades of color, randomly distributed to mimic the deck.
Thanks for watching!

I love it John, the weathering looks absolutely realistic. I’ve gotta say too, the painted deck is extremely convincing, and goes to show that teak isn’t always needed. Great job, thanks for sharing!

Wow!! Incredible job, I dread to think how many hours went into this build, but worth it regardless.

That is beautiful! What a tall, narrow ship it was.

Really impressive mate! It looks almost sci fi, but in a retro way!

Your model is worthy of a museum display. Every detail is beautifully and authentically rendered. I am particularly impressed by your aircraft. You have done the canopy framing in a most realistic way that I haven’t see done before. The ship itself is a masterpiece with great photo-etch work, convincing weathering and intricate detail painting. The Akagi is one of the most impressive of Japanese carriers and you have really done it justice.
