Hasegawa F-14D Tomcat, Vandy 1, 1/48 scale
Hello iModeler! Long time no post. Here is my first commissioned build.
My client requested it be in flight with a full load of ordnance. That made mounting kind of tricky but I found a way in the end. I bent a clear acrylic rod to a suitable shape with the use of a heat gun. I also inserted two sections of brass tube into the rod, and another two sections of the next size up into the Sparrow well. The rod fits snugly between the Phoenix missiles and supports the weight of the model.
For the base, I drew up a VX-9 Vandy 1 patch in Illustrator, then printed it as a decal and applied to the base over a coat of Future.
Since I had a pic with a good angle, I played with it in Photoshop. I color corrected the jet and added a sky background with appropriate heat blur. Anyways, this is what I came up with. Thanks for looking!

That’s a difficult kit. Nice work.

Thanks, I did have to wrestle with it a bit assembling the fuselage. Fortunately, there was a lot of experience on the internet that I was able to learn what to expect from.

Looks very impressive with the dark paint, heavy load out and fully swept wings.

That's a very nicely built "Black Bunny" Ramon. Nice work at the engine exhausts and ordnance, among others. It looks very imposing on its base.
All the best!

Ramon, I don't know what is more impressive, your modeling skills or your photo editing skills. The combination of the two makes for a stunning presentation.
Cheers,
Scott

Thank you Scott. I was looking though the pics I snapped and decided to play around with that one. I think I could have added more bounced light underneath the jet but its not bad for ten minutes of work!

I know it's a Hase kit, but the cover photo totally looks like 90's Revell box top!

Really impressive mate!
I really like the photos of it from the front view, looks like it's actually doing a fair bit of speed!

Thanks dude! My client wanted it posed for an intercept, so that is what I gave him.
