I 16 type 24

October 4, 2020 · in Aviation · · 38 · 3.4K

This is a I 16 type 24 in 1/32 scale by ICM with Eduard's photoetch for interior and exterior. This is a “no paint” version. I found some reference on line about the construction materials of the soviet airplane of this period. This is a link http://www.redbanner.co.uk/History/surface/I16_surface.html

  1. Carlo @carlofar206, This is a beautiful model! How did you simulate the wood?

  2. That looks like a show winner.. Nice work!

Edit: on second look-through today, on a larger screen, I can't help but appreciate the fabric covered surfaces as well! Again, well done!

Hard to believe this is simulated wood.

  5. Carlo, this is outstanding!
I don't know how you did it, but it is one of the most striking, uncommon and well executed schemes I have ever seen.
    Congratulations!

  6. Superb work on this. Which wood decals did you use?

A very illustrious model in every angle Carlo.
The wooden panel effects and the aluminum sheen makes for a prominent and visually striking contrast so well accomplished. This really is a delight to watch.
Thank you for sharing these images.

  15. I thought they were wood grain decals ,Massive respect for your painting skills !
