Messerschmitt Bf109 G-6Tamiya 1/72

October 29, 2020 · in Aviation · · 9 · 2K

Hello everyone, I finished this kit May 2020. I used acrylics and converted the instruction's suggestions to:

RLM 74(gray green): (AS-3) xf-61 dark green or xf-81 dark green
RLM 75(gray purple): (AS-4) xf-54 dark sea gray or xf-22 rlm gray
RLM 76(lower fuselage gray): (AS-5) xf-23 light blue

As always the Tamiya kit was very easy to build. It was my first attempt at Luftwaffe mottling on the fuselage and I had some trouble getting it right. Thanks for looking!

  1. Donโ€™t worry about the mottling, as I understand it that was done freehand following some guidelines, so no two were the same. The weathering on the underside is great! Wonderful job.

  2. In just like this.

  3. Great looking 109, Christopher.
Compliments on the mottling, it came out very nice.
And as said by Gary, no identical 109's on this part.

Notably nice work on this 109 model Christopher.
I am in the same view as the previous forum members when the mottling is concerned.

  5. That's a great 109, Christopher and the mottling looks very good, especially for the 1/72 scale!
Waiting for your next Luftwaffe mottled scheme.
    Well done!

  6. Sweet looking 109, Christopher (@haakon33). Paint and camouflage very effective.

  7. Nice looking 109 Christopher. Mottling looks good from here!

  8. Lovely little 109! I'm going to have to try one of the Tamiya kits I have in my stash...
