Empire of Japan. Rufe.
I finally finished my first model in 30 years! Getting back into building now that I will have a lot more time. Unfortunately my part time job turned into a full time job since summer, so it took me quite a while to finish this.
Tamiya 1/48 Rufe.
Welcome back, Jim.
And what a way to return to modelling.
You did it with a wonderful Rufe.
So impressive to see those float planes.
I agree with @johnb, Jim!
There's no better comeback to our hobby than your wonderful Rufe! Empire of Japan floatplanes look so cool and your splendid job proves it.
Congratulations!
Nice re-entry Jim (@jmorgan)
Worth the wait, Jim!
Lovely work - looking forward to the next one!
One of my next projects will be a zero, painted in the gray/green color scheme. I want to try my hand at pre shading the bottom side, and putting some panel line accents in. If anyone has some recommendations for good you tube tutorials please let me know.
Welcome back to the hobby, Jim, for tutorials check out the WIPs in the Group on this website, plenty of info there.
Nicely done!
Nice job, Jim! Welcome back. Those older Tamiya Zero kits are still nice.
Nice Rufe! Great comeback. The Rufe always struck me as the best fighter-to-floatplane adaptation.
Welcome back! Floatplanes are very nice . No undercarriage to deal with !
Welcome back, and nicely done! Looking forward to more...
For a thirty year hiatus Jim your comeback shows you're still in the game. Nice job on the Rufe, may want to adjust the light exposure a tad on your pics. That way we can see more detail of your model.
Looks Great! Hopefully it will provide impetus for me to get moving on my Rufe amidst my home remodeling project. Its fun to model as it should be!
Great job on this Nakajima Rufe project and welcome back to modeling, and to iModeler. Look forward to other projects as well. And I hope your full-time job goes well too.
