Carpathian Eagle...1/48 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3, Royal Romanian Airforce
Built in 2019. Eduard kit with Hasegawa decals, RLM71 from Gunze, RLM65 from AK Real Color, legs shortened about 2-3mm to make it look better and more realistic, plastic rods and lead wire for the brake lines, EZ Line and fishing line for the antenna.
Adjutant Tiberiu Vinca, Grupul 7 Vanatoare, Stalingrad in the end of ´42
Your usual excellent model, Reinhard!
I love the decalling, especially the origianally hand painted letters at the port side of the cockpit.
Well done!
What a coincidence - I was just sipping my coffee this morning with my magazine about Romanian 109's and thought I will have to make one of the Emils one day soon. . .
I'll hit "like" star on my way out of here 🙂
Like always looking fantastic, Reinhard.
Nice to see so many 109's from different air forces.
Another beauty - the yellow nose really goes well with the Romanian markings.
Nice Me109 in one of most colorful marking option from the eastern front.
Excellent model
An unusual and striking set of colors and markings. That grey green camo color is nice. Is the slogan hand painted? It doesn't look like a decal, having no visible carrier film. If so, it is masterfully done at this scale (even as a decal, actually). Great attention to detail and accuracy in the little fixes mentioned.
Thanks again Colin! The slogan is a decal. As mentioned, took the decals from a Hasegawa kit. Their decals are hit or miss. In this case they worked well.
