Parrot Squadron...1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw190D-9, JV44
Built more than 6 years ago, Tamiya kit, Eduard decals, underside painted, MDC open wheel well conversion, Dragon wheels (Tamiya ones are too small in diameter)
Jerry Crandall books for reference
Model shows one of the well known and colorful JV44 "Sachsenberg Schwarm", "Platzschutzschwarm" or "Papageienstaffel" aircraft that where used to protect landing and starting Me262s from enemy fighters.
This one was flown by Oberleutnant Klaus Faber in May 1945, Airing/Germany.
A masterpiece, and yet another one FW of your great collection, Reinhard!
Beautifully done, a pleasure to view!
I’ve always thought the ‘D-9’ was one of the best looking fighters and I’ve always like this JV44 scheme. Impressive model, thanks for posting.
Nicely done. I did "Rot 13" also using Eduard overtures and PE and Jerry Crandall's decals.
A great piece of your 190 collection, Reinhard.
Beautiful scheme.
The Papgei staffel is always a good subject, and you've really done a good one here.
Beautifully done, always one of the most eye catching scheme's!
